Accessing Mobile Safari on Kindle Devices

This article explains how Safari Books Online's mobile site works with different versions of the Kindle.

Kindle device owners can access Safari Books Online by logging in through a mobile-optimized web site. To access your Safari account on your Kindle device, please follow these steps below:


For e-ink Kindle devices, such as the Kindle Keyboard, Kindle Touch, or Kindle DX:

1. From your Kindle's home screen, press or tap Menu, and select Experimental
2. From the Experimental list of applications, select Web Browser
3. Once the web browser is launched, press or tap Menu again, and select Browser Settings
4. Be sure to check that both JavaScript and Images are enabled; if they are not, enable them in this menu before you proceed
5. After JavaScript and Images are both enabled, you may close the Browser Settings window
6. Navigate the browser to http://m.safaribooksonline.com - on devices other than the Kindle Touch, you may find that pressing Menu and selecting Enter URL may be the easiest means to enter this URL into the browser address bar
7. Once you reach the Safari Books Online mobile web site, you should now be able to log in and access your account


For the Kindle Fire:

1. From the home screen of your Kindle Fire, tap Web at the top of the screen
2. Once in the Kindle Fire web browser, tap the Menu icon at the bottom of the screen, and select Settings
3. In the Settings screen for the web browser, be sure to check that Load Images, Accept Cookies, and Enable JavaScript are all enabled
4. Press the Back arrow at the bottom of the screen to return to the web browser
5. In the address bar, navigate to http://m.safaribooksonline.com
6. Once you reach the Safari Books Online mobile web site, you should now be able to log in and access your account
